Frequently Asked Questions

Ever wonder if coffee really does stunt your growth? We've done our research so you don't have to! Read below to find out answers to frequently asked questions regarding coffee:

What is the difference between light roast & dark roast?

The difference in light and dark roast is the length of time that the bean is roasted for. The longer the bean is roasted, the darker it becomes. As beans get darker, their flavor changes creating thousands of different flavor possibilities from the same batch of beans. This makes roasting coffee a unique talent that we believe we have perfected and we hope that by using our bean roasting skills, we can find a flavor of beans that is perfect for you.

Does dark roast coffee or light roast coffee have more caffeine?

Depending on when you started drinking coffee, you probably believe that either light roast or dark roast has more caffeine in it. In reality, the amount of caffeine in one coffee bean is the same regardless of how that bean was roasted. The amount of caffeine that your cup will have depends on how many beans you used to brew your coffee.

However, light roasted beans are SMALLER than dark roasted beans because they haven't been heated enough to expand them. Thismeans that measuring out your coffee beans with a scoop will cause lighter roast scoops to have more caffeine in them than darker roast scoops since they contain more beans. But, if you (like most coffee professionals) measure your coffee using its weight, you will end up with the same amount of caffeine in your cup regardless of the lightness or darkness of the roast.

Will drinking too much coffee stunt your growth?

Despite this being part of an old wives' tale, there has yet to be real scientific data that backs up this claim. There is little harm done, if any, by consuming coffee (even at a young age).
